The page is designed to inform clerks, partners, stakeholders, and the general public. It will be updated on an ongoing basis to answer additional questions. Clerks should feel free to provide links to this page on their website, share it through social media, or provide it any other way to their voters.

Consumers Energy Planned Venting of Gas at Puttygut Storage Field

Consumers Energy will have a planned natural gas venting activity at 8298 Puttygut Rd, Casco Township 48064 beginning on Tuesday 7/11/2023 through Friday 7/14/2023.

The venting will be intermittently for approximately 1 hour, during daylight hours.  The reason for this venting is to perform system upgrades to the Puttygut storage field gathering system and related piping.  The gas being vented will be non-odorized.

During this venting there will be significant sounds the residents of Casco Township and surrounding areas may experience, which is a normal part of this venting.

The Consumers Energy public safety officer, will notify the local fire and police department. As always, in case of a gas emergency call Consumers Energy at 1-800-477-5050.

Warmly,

Lauren

DTE Statement: Working to Improve Electric Reliability in Your Area

Dear Customer:

DTE Energy sets a high standard when it comes to providing safe, reliable and affordable electric service. Recently, the dependability of electricity in the Casco area has been beneath that standard, and we apologize. We want you to know we have taken action to fix the problems.

To address the recent outages in your neighborhood, a team of DTE engineers visited your area to personally inspect and analyze our equipment. As a result of the issues they identified, our crews:

– Trimmed trees at 180 location(s)

– Performed equipment work at 228 location(s)

– Replace poles, transformers, crossarms, insulators, lightning arresters, and cutouts.

The replacement and/or installation of overhead equipment, in addition to the tree trim work, will reduce the likelihood of those specific pieces of equipment and trees being the cause of a future outage, momentary or low voltage event.

We will continue to monitor the performance of the circuit that feeds your neighborhood to determine if any further line work is necessary. If landscaping was disrupted during the process or equipment was left behind, DTE crews will return to restore or resolve any related issues.

COVID-19 update: Our crews are still working during the pandemic, while following strict health and safety procedures, to make sure you have the power you need.

If you have any questions or concerns, email powerconcerns@dteenergy.com to contact an electric representative. Please leave your name, address and phone number and we’ll return your email as soon as possible.

This work is a small part of DTE’s commitment to provide you with increased reliability and peace of mind. We look forward to delivering on that commitment by improving your service.

Sincerely,

Ryan Stowe
Vice President, Distribution Operations
DTE Energy
