This is a notice of upcoming natural gas well maintenance and compression work in our Consumers Energy natural gas storage fields in Casco Township.
This work will begin in late June, 2023 thru late July, 2023 and is typically is done on weekdays between 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Please feel free to share the attached information on your Township or City website.
The flyer below provides additional information and was also mailed to all residents in the surrounding areas.
During this routine maintenance work, some pressurized natural gas will rise from the open wells. To ensure the safety of nearby neighbors, our workers and the environment, this excess natural gas will be burned off in a controlled manner. This is called flaring, which you may see or hear anywhere within the attached map. Flaring is a safe, common industry practice and is continuously monitored.
Emergency officials have been notified of the activity. As always, please call Consumers Energy at 1-800-477-5050 with any natural gas concerns.
