Palms Road between St. Clair Hwy and Division Rd in Casco Township will be closed to traffic starting the week of July 5th, 2022
Due to the continuing material and scheduling conflicts, the start date of the full road closure has been moved to July. This will not affect the length of full closure/detour time as the maximum 90 day limit is still in effect.
Work includes removing the existing bridge superstructure, road approach paving, and guardrail, then installing a new steel beam superstructure with concrete deck, new guardrail, HMA paving, and restoration.
Palms Road will be closed for a consecutive 90 days starting on about July 5th, 2022. Estimated completion date is September 30th, 2022. A detour will be posted during the closure of Palms Road. The detour will be using St. Clair Hwy, Hessen Rd, and Division Rd.
Access will be maintained to local traffic within the construction zoning, including homes and businesses, during the closure. Emergency vehicles will have access to local properties through the entire project. Access across Belle River through Palms Road will NOT be permitted. Local residents are encouraged to plan for delays due to construction. We request your cooperation and patience.
This project is financed through the State of Michigan Bridge Bundling Program and the Federal Highway Administration at a total estimated cost for construction of $2,500,000. The work will be performed by C.A. Hull Inc.
